Moldovian State Visit To Norway

The Norwegian Royal Family are hosting the President of Moldova, Her Excellency, Maia Sandu, on a State Visit to Norway on May 6 and 7, to celebrate and build diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties.

In the morning, King Harald VQueen SonjaCrown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit received President Maia Sandu in an Official Welcome Ceremony at Slottsplassen outside the Royal Palace in Oslo, with Crown Prince Haakon and President Sandu to inspect the guard of honour.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit joined President Sandu to inspect the guard of honour on the Palace Square, meeting schoolchildren and members of the Moldovian community ahead of the Gift Exchange and Luncheon inside the Royal Palace.

In the evening evening, the King and Queen Sonja hosted a State Banquet at the Royal Palace of Oslo in honour of President Maia Sandu, which was also attended by the Crown Prince, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Astrid.

Queen Sonja wore a grey gown with Queen Maud’s Pearl Tiara, Pearl Necklace and Earrings, Drapers’ Company Brooch and the Sash & Star of the Order of St. Olav with King Harald’s Family Order.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore a pink gown, the Norwegian Amethyst Tiara and Parure with the Sash & Star of the Order of St. Olav and King Harald’s Family Order.

Princess Astrid wore a yellow gown with the Ruby Aigrette Tiara, and the Sash & Star of the Order of St. Olav with Family Orders of King Haakon, King Olav, and King Harald.
