Royal Ascot 2023 | Day 2

The British Royal Family attended the second day of races at the Ascot Racecourse on June 21st. Royal Ascot is a permanent fixture on the British Royal Family’s June calendar and the late Queen attended all five days of the horse-racing event for over 70 years. This year, Royal Ascot follows Order of the Garter Service, Trooping the Colour and the Coronation.

A Royal Procession of four carriages traveled from Windsor Castle to the Ascot Racecourse in horse-drawn landaus, before the Royal Family and their guests spent the day in the Royal Enclosure:

King Charles III and Queen Camilla (wearing her 5-strand Pearl Choker with Topaz Clasp) were joined by the Earl and Countess of Halifax in the First Carriage. The Queen and the Countess are former sisters-in-law as both were previously married to the Parker-Bowles brothers.

Lord Soames and Lady Sarah Keswick joined the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh in the Second Carriage.

Zara and Mike Tindall  were joined by Mr & Mrs. William Haggas in the Third Carriage.

The Fourth Carriage included Sir Michael Stoute, Lady Charles Spencer-Churchill, and Lord and Lady Lloyd Webber

The Princess Royal (wearing her Aquamarine Pineflower Brooch),  Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and Prince Michael and Princess Michael of Kent were also present. 

Queen Camilla presented the winning owner for the Prince of Wales Stakes to a representative of Shadwell Estate Company while Mike Tindall and Zara Tindall pretend the winning trophy, the Queen’s Vase, to Frankie Dettori on Gregory.
