Dutch State Visit to Belgium
King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium are hosting King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of The Netherlands on their State Visit to Belgium from June 20th to the 22nd, which is the latest in the close relationship between the Dutch and Belgian Royal Families over decades. The themes of the visit are improving social and physical quality of life, combating climate change, maintaining and promoting a safe society and a sustainable future in which energy is green and affordable. The visit contributes to the further deepening of the intensive cooperation, in which the Netherlands and Belgium strive for a safe, clean and sustainable future.
Royal Ascot 2023 | Day 1
It’s that time of year again! The British Royal Family attended the first day of races at the Ascot Racecourse on June 20th. Royal Ascot is a permanent fixture on the British Royal Family’s June calendar and the late Queen attended all five days of the horse-racing event for over 70 years. Order of the Garter Service 2023
The British Royal Family joined the King and Queen to attend the Service for the Most Noble Order of the Garter at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle on June 19th, following Trooping the Colour and the Coronation. The oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain, the Most Noble Order of the Garter was founded by King Edward III in 1348, and is limited to the Sovereign, the Prince of Wales and 24 members as well as members of the Royal Family, known as Royal Knights and Ladies, and Foreign Sovereigns, known as Stranger (or Extra) Knights and Ladies. The British Royal Family celebrate the King’s Official Birthday at the annual Trooping the Colour Ceremony in London on June 17th, a month after his Coronation. Last month’s Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla included a Reception at Buckingham Palace and a Concert at Windsor Castle, but was in no way comprable to spectacular celebrations held for the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, which involved weeks of Banquets, Parades, Galas and Processions 70 years ago.

King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway are being hosted by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and the Danish Royal Family on an Official Visit to Denmark on June 15th and 16th. The visit marks the historical ties and the close neighbourly relationship between Denmark and Norway and between the two Royal Families, in addition to the King and Queen heading a Norwegian Business Delegation focusing on areas of Danish-Norwegian cooperation within, among other things, green solutions.

King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway will begin an Official Visit to Denmark later today, which will be the latest in a series of visits between the Danish and Norwegian Royal Families, who have had a very close relationship for over a century, ever since Prince Carl of Denmark was elected King Haakon VII of Norway in 1905!
