Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco were joined by members of the extended Monegasque Princely Family for the annual National Day Celebrations in Monte Carlo on November 19th. National Day, also known as The Sovereign Prince’s Day, is held on the day of St. Rainier, the namesake saint of Prince Rainier III. Today is also the 20th Anniversary of the Enthronement of Prince Albert II.
King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain were joined by the Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia for the Spanish National Day Celebrations on October 12th in Madrid. Traditionally referred to as the Día de la Hispanidad, the La Fiesta Nacional de España commemorates the discovery of the Americas by Christopher Columbus for Spain on 12 October 1492.
The Belgian Royal Family celebrated National Day 2025 with a series of events on July 20th and 21st. The day commemorates July 21st, 1831 on which Prince Leopold of Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha swore allegiance to the new Belgian constitution, thus becoming the first Head of State of an independent state of Belgium under a constitutional monarchy and parliament.
The Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg joined Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa to celebrate National Day 2025 with a series of events on June 23rd. National Day or Nationalfeierdag marks the Grand Duke’s Official Birthday, and has been celebrated on June 23rd since 1961, this year being the final of the reign of Grand Duke Henri.
The British Royal Family celebrated the King’s Official Birthday at the annual Trooping the Colour Ceremony in London on June 14th. The annual event of Trooping of the Colour has marked the official birthday of the Sovereign for more than 260 years, and this is the third of King Charles’ Reign.
The Norwegian Royal Family celebrated Constitution Day, the National Day of Norway, on May 17th by greeting the annual Children’s Parade in Asker from Skaugum (residence of the Crown Princely family) and another from the balcony of the Royal Palace of Oslo.
The Dutch Royal Family joined King Willem-Alexander for the annual Koningsdag (King’s Day) celebrations in Doetinchem on April 26th. Koningsdag, a Bank Holiday in the Netherlands, celebrates King Willem-Alexander’s Birthday, and members of the Royal Family attend celebrations in a different city each year, though it is taking place one day earlier this year.
