Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla
Royalty and Heads of State from around the world have gathered to join the British Royal Family for the spectacular Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey on May 6th, which is the first British Coronation in 70 years. The Ceremony follows the King’s Accession Council in September as well as a Reception for Royalty and Heads of State at Buckingham Palace.
Coronation Reception at Buckingham Palace
On the eve of the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, the British Royal Family hosted a Reception at Buckingham Palace for Foreign Royalty and Heads of State who are in London to attend the Coronation. Earlier, the Royal Family hosted a Reception for Realm Governors General and Commonwealth Prime Minsters.
Sovereign’s Parade at Sandhurst 2023
King Charles III is presiding over the 200th Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on April 14th. The Sovereign’s Parade at the end of each term marks the passing out from Sandhurst of Officer Cadets who have completed the Commissioning Course, a year’s intensive training for 169 officer cadets from the UK and 25 from 19 overseas countries.
Wedding of Princess Iman of Jordan
Princess Iman bint Abdullah of Jordan, the elder daughter of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan, married Jameel Alexander Thermiotis in a Katb al Kitab Ceremony at the Beit Al Urdun Palace in Amman on the afternoon of March 12th. The Hashemite Royal Court has announced that Princess Iman bint Abdullah of Jordan will marry Jameel Alexander Thermiotis on March 12th, and Queen Rania shared a reel with several unseen images of her daughter, with a surprise portrait featuring Queen Rania’s Diamond Tiara, which may be worn by Princess Iman on her wedding day!
Funeral of King Constantine II of Greece
Royal Guests from around the world joined the Greek Royal Family for the the Funeral of King Constantine II of Greece at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Athens at noon on January 16th, which will be followed by the Burial in the Royal Cemetery at Tatoi Palace. The former King Constantine II was an Olympic Gold Medalist before becoming the Sovereign for nine years and then being exiled for over 40 years, returning to Greece only a decade ago. Violence against Women and Girls Reception at Buckingham Palace
Queen Camilla hosted a reception to raise awareness of violence against women and girls as part of the UN 16 days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence at Buckingham Palace on November 29th, for which she was joined by Queen Rania of Jordan, Queen Mathilde of Belgium, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, and the Countess of Wessex.
