Queen Rania’s Diamond Tiara

The Hashemite Royal Court has announced that Princess Iman bint Abdullah of Jordan will marry Jameel Alexander Thermiotis on March 12th, and Queen Rania shared a reel with several unseen images of her daughter, with a surprise portrait featuring Queen Rania’s Diamond Tiara, which may be worn by Princess Iman on her wedding day!

Composed of diamond flowers set into a stiff triangular diamond frame, which is worn wrapped around the back of the head, an indicator that the piece was originally a necklace, though the provenance and maker are unknown.

Queen Rania first wore her Diamond Tiara for a spectacular State Banquet hosted by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh in St George’s Hall in Windsor Castle, on the first day of their State Visit to the United Kingdom in November 2001.

Two days later, Queen Rania wore the Diamond Tiara again for a Return Banquet hosted by King Abdullah and Queen Rania for the Queen and members of the British Royal Family at Spencer House in London.

Queen Rania also wore the Diamond Tiara for a portrait in 2001, the last time it was seen publicly, and thus it was assumed that the Tiara was a loan, since had been worn only three times in 2001.

However, it is now clear that the piece belongs to Queen Rania, since it was worn by Princess Iman for the portrait which was shared by Queen Rania in an Instagram Reel. With Princess Iman’s wedding only a week away, it is quite possible that she will wear Queen Rania’s Diamond Tiara for the wedding as well.
