Happy 60th Birthday to Lady Helen Taylor! The only daughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and the Duchess of Kent, Lady Helen Windsor was born during the Royal Baby Boom of 1964, alongside Prince Edward, Lady Sarah Chatto, and James Ogilvy. Born at the family seat of Coppins in Buckinghamshire, Lady Helen was educated at Eton End School in Datchet, before going to St Mary’s School in Wantage, and Gordonstoun, where she got her nickname ‘Melons’.
After Gordonstoun, Lady Helen worked in the Contemporary Department at Christie’s before working with the art dealer Karsten Schubert, all while serving as a fashion ambassador and muse to Giorgio Armani for 17 years. Lady Helen is a patron of the CLIC Sargent children’s cancer charity, a trustee of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, and is on the advisory board of the Glyndebourne Festival Opera.
In 1992, Lady Helen Windsor married art dealer Timothy Taylor in a grand royal ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. The couple have four children; Columbus, Cassius, Eloise, and Estella Taylor.
As the 47th in the Line of Succession to the British throne, Lady Helen has been present at Royal Occasions for her entire life, most recently at the Platinum Jubilee Service at St Paul’s Cathedral, the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, and the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Good article. Currently Lady Helen stands at 44th in line to the throne, not 47th, as you state. Her brother Nicholas and several nephews and nieces are barred as Roman Catholics. She follows after her niece Lady Amelia.
