Royal Guests from around Europe joined the Dutch Royal Family for the Inauguration of Queen Juliana of The Netherlands in Amsterdam on this day in 1948, 75 years ago, following the Abdication of Queen Wilhelmina after a 58-year Reign.

The Inauguration of Queen Juliana of The Netherlands was held at the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam, followed by an appearance on the balcony of the Royal Palace of Amsterdam, as well as a Procession through the streets of Amsterdam.

The following evening, Queen Juliana of the Netherlands (wearing the Mellerio Ruby Tiara) hosted a Banquet at the Royal Palace of Amsterdam followed by a glittering Gala ‘Sports Fantasy’ showcase at the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam, which was also attended by the Foreign Royal Guests led by Queen Elisabeth of Belgium (in her Diamond Bandeau).
