Funeral of King Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden at the Storkyrkan in Stockholm on this day in 1973. All but one (Queen Elizabeth II) of Europe’s reigning Kings and Queens followed the body of the King in a Procession from the Chapel of the Royal Palace of Stockholm to the Storkyrkan, including King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden (grandson), King Olav V of Norway, Queen Margrethe and Dowager Queen Ingrid of Denmark (granddaughter and daughter), the Duke of Edinburgh (nephew), King Baudouin and Queen Fabiola of Belgium, Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, Grand Duke Jean and Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte of LuxembourgKing Constantine and Queen Anne Marie of Greece (granddaughter and grandson-in-law), King Umberto of Italy, and Lord Mountbatten (brother-in-law).
