Princess Christina of Sweden married Tord Magnuson in the Royal Chapel of the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
Afterwards, the newlywed bride and groom, were joined by her brother, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, as they waved to crowds from the balcony of the Royal Palace.
Princess Christina wore a Märtaskolan white silk crepe gown with Queen Sofia’s lace veil and the Connaught Tiara.

Happy Anniversary to Princess Christina and Tord Magnuson, who got married on this day in 1974. The wedding of the youngest of the four elder sisters of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden was one of the first grand events of his reign. Princess Christina, who lost her style of Royal Highness as a result of her marriage, was the hostess for her brother in the initial years of his reign, before his marriage in 1976. Princess Christina and Tord Magnuson have three sons and are still happily married, though Princess Christina was diagnosed with chronic leukemia last year. Afterwards, the bride, groom, and her brother, the King, waved to crowds from the balcony of the Royal Palace. There were quite a few foreign royals in attendance, including Queen Ingrid of Denmark (aunt of the bride, wearing the Danish Ruby Parure), then Crown Princes Harald and Crown Princess Sonja (wearing Queen Josefina’s Diamond Tiara) of Norway, then Crown Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands (wearing Queen Emma’s Diamond Tiara), and Princess Benedikte of Denmark, and Princess of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (cousin of the bride, wearing her Floral Tiara). Among the family members were the bride’s sisters; Princess Margretha (wearing her Aquamarine Tiara), Princess Brigitta (wearing the Four Button Tiara), and Princess Desiree (wearing her personal Tiara). Also present were Prince Bertil of Sweden (uncle of the bride) and the then Lilian Craig (Bertil’s longtime partner and eventual wife, wearing her Laurel Wreath Tiara).
