The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have had a momentous year, with celebrating their 5th anniversary in April and the Royal Tours of India, Bhutan and Canada, as well as taking a greater Royal role this year. Also in April, the Duke and Duchess, with Prince Harry, hosted President and First Lady Obama at Kensington Palace for Dinner, when Prince George made a surprise appearance. Continue reading
The Duke and Duchess attended a series of events for the first time, starting in May with the Chelsea Flower Show in May. the Duke attended his first Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, and they both made their debut appearance at Royal Ascot in June.
The Duke and Duchess attended most of the events for the Queen’s 90th Birthday this year, including the Celebration at Windsor Castle in May, the Thanksgiving Service, Trooping the Colour , and the Patron’s Lunch in June.
In June, the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge attended the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices ‘A Taste of Norfolk’ Gala at Houghton Hall in Norfolk. The Duchess is the Royal Patron of the organization, she launched the nook appeal in 2014, the Gala was held to support and raise money for the appeal. Continue reading
The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry attended a vigil at the Thiepval Memorial and commemorations for the Battle of the Somme Centenary in France on June 30th and July 1st.
The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George attended Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire on July 8th. The Royals, attended the first day of the three day show which includes special celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of the RAF Air Cadets. The Duchess is the Honorary Air Commandant of the Air Cadets. Continue reading
The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge attended the last day of Wimbledon on July 10th. They watched Scotland’s Andy Murray win the Gentlemen’s Final. The Royal couple were joined by PM David Cameron, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, and actor Benedict Cumberbatch, among a host of other celebrities and members of the Royal family. Continue reading
In September and October, the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte went on a 8-day Royal Visit to Canada. We covered previous royal visits to Victoria before the start of the visit. I personally had the chance to meet and shake hands with the Duchess on Day 1 in Victoria. In October, the Duchess of Cambridge went on her first overseas solo trip, to the Netherlands. She met with King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands for lunch, visited an art exhibit, attended a addiction and mental health discussion and visited the social Makerspace of Bospolder-Tussendijken in the Hague & Rotterdam. The Duke and Duchess joined members of the royal family for the annual Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance a Royal Albert Hall in London on the evening of November 12th. The next day, the Duke laid a wreath at the annual Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London, while the duchess watched from a balcony. Continue reading
Duke of Cambridge in Vietnam- Day 1 | Duke of Cambridge attends the International Wildlife Trade Conference
In November, the Duke of Cambridge went on a two-day visit to Vietnam to attend the 3rd International Wildlife Trade Conference. He met with politicians, visited a school, a local cafe and met emerging leaders of the arts, music and business at a reception at the British Embassy on Day 1, and attended the International Wildlife Trade Conference in Hanoi, where he also gave a speech for the global need to end Wildlife Crime on Day 2.
The Duke and Duchess attended their third annual Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace on December 8th, when a rare group photo was released just before the reception, delighting all those who have longed to see pictures of the royals at this event. Continue reading
