British Royals at Christmas 2016

Members of the British Royal family attended the annual Christmas Service at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, Norfolk on December 25th. Most of the members of the family are staying with the Queen at Sandringham House for the Holidays. The Queen missed both the services since she is recovering from a heavy cold. Another absence was Zara Phillips, who recently suffered a miscarriage. The family attended the early morning service, which receives little media attention, and the pre-afternoon service, which is usually attended by all of the Queen’s guests. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte attended a service at St Mark’s Church in Englefield, Berkshire, where they are spending Christmas with the Duchess’s family.

The Duke of Edinburgh was accompanied by all four of his children as well as their respective spouses, Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie, Lady Louise WIndsor and Autumn Phillips for the early morning service at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were joined by Michael, Carole, Pippa, and James Middleton and Pippa’s fiance, James Mathews, for the service at St Mark’s Church in Englefield, Berkshire. It was the first time Prince George and Princess Charlotte have attended the Christmas Service.
The Duke of Edinburgh was accompanied by the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry, Duke of York, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, the Earl & Countess of Wessex, Lady Louise Windsor, Viscount Severn, the Princess Royal and Sir Timothy Laurence, Peter, Autumn, Savannah, and Isla Phillips for the pre-afternoon service at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham. Afterwards, the Royals mingled with the crowds.
The Duchess of Cornwall wore a blue coat and black hat with her sapphire butterfly brooch. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a Hobbs Celeste Burgundy Coat with the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Diamond and Pearl Earrings. The Princess Royal wore a patterned coat and fedora with a knotted gold brooch. The Countess of Wessex wore a patterned red dress and a black hat.
Princess Eugenie wore a tweed coat with a red hat. Lady Louise Windsor also wore a grey coat. Princess Charlotte wore a navy coat with maroon accessories. Prince George wore a grey coat.
