Swedish Royal annual Summer Photoshoot

The Swedish Royal family gathered for their annual photoshoot at Solliden Palace, the Summer Residence of the Family, on July 15th, the day after Crown Princess Victoria celebrated her birthday at Solliden last week. The photos were released on July 20th. The whole Swedish Royal Family posed this year. This was one of the first occasions we got to see Prince Oscar and Prince Alexander, the newborn babies of the family.

Princess Olga’s Diamond Kokoshnik Tiara

This glittering Diamond Kokoshnik Tiara was worn by a series of women that spent their lives in exile. Princess Nicholas of Greece spent parts of her life exiled from Russia and Greece due to politics. Her daughter, Princess Paul of Yugoslavia, was exiled with her husband after the Allies took-over Yugoslavia during WWII. Her daughter-in-law, Princess Maria-Pia, was exiled from her native Italy at an early age. Continue reading

Danish Royal Annual Summer Photoshoot

The Danish Royal family posed for their Summer Photoshoot at Grasten Castle on July 16th. This is an annual event that marks the start of royal summer vacation. Usually, the Queen, Prince Henrik, the Crown Prince’s family, Prince Joachim’s family, and Princess Bendikte’s family are also present. This year, the Queen and Prince Henrik were accompanied by the Crown Prince’s family and Princess Bendikte’s children. Continue reading

Crown Princess Victoria’s 39th Birthday

HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden turned 39 on July 14. There is an annual holiday, Victoriadagen, held in Sweden every year, to celebrate the birthday of their Crown Princess.Earlier in the day,  Crown Princess Victoria, along with her parents, husband, and children, greeted the public outside Solliden Palace. In the evening, the rest of the Royal Family joined them for a Birthday Concert in Öland. Continue reading

National Osteoporosis Society Reception at Clarence House

HRH The Duchess of Cornwall hosted a Reception for the National Osteoporosis Society at Clarence House on July 12th. Originally, the Duchess was hosting a Garden Part to mark the Society’s 30th Anniversary, but the Garden Party was cancelled because of the rain. The Duchess has been patron of the National Osteoporosis Society since 1997,following the deaths of her mother and grandmother as a result of the illness. She has been the President of the Society since 2001. Continue reading

Queen in Edinburgh

HM the Queen and HRH attended official engagements in Edinburgh on July 8th. They visited Hamilton and Inches jewellers and the Musselburgh Racecourse to mark its 200th anniversary, where the Queen’s horse finished third. The Royal couple started their day at Royal Warrant Holders; Hamilton and Inches jewellers, where the Queen unveiled a plaque. They were presented with a Post-it note holder, a silver bowl , and a kilt pin for The Duke of Edinburgh. The Queen commented: ‘Oh, that’s very kind. (It’s) very useful.‘ Later, the Queen and Duke visited Musselburgh Racecourse to mark its 200th anniversary. HM unveiled a sculpture, and then sat down to watch the races. The Queen’s horses, Elementary and Forecaster, came third in their respective races. She also met Cruachan IV, the Shetland pony mascot of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Continue reading

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George at Royal International Air Tattoo

The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George attended Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire on July 8th. The Royals, attended the first day of the three day show which includes special celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of the RAF Air Cadets. The Duchess is the Honorary Air Commandant of the Air Cadets.  Continue reading

Duchess of Cambridge presents Art Fund Museum of the Year Award

The Duchess of Cambridge presented the Art Fund Museum of the Year award at the Natural History Museum in London on July 6th. The £100,000 award – the largest museum prize in the world – is given annually to one outstanding museum which has shown exceptional imagination, innovation and achievement. This year five Museums: Arnolfini, Bristol; Bethlem Museum of the Mind, London; Jupiter Artland, West Lothian; Victoria and Albert Museum, London; and the York Art Gallery, Yorkshire. Queen hosts a Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse 5-7-16

The Queen held a Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse on the afternoon of July 5th. Earlier, HM held an Investiture and Audiences. This was the last Garden Party held by the Queen this summer, and the only one in Edinburgh. The other Garden Parties were held Buckingham Palace. She was joined by the Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Wessex, and the Princess Royal. Continue reading
