Following his State Visit to the United Kingdom, King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid of Denmark hosted Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Iran on his State Visit to Denmark on this day in 1959, 65 years ago, ahead of his State Visit to The Netherlands. The visit was reciprocated by the Danish State Visit to Iran in 1963, and attendance at festivities marking the 2500th Anniversary of the Persian Empire.

Danish State Visit to Norway | Day 2
The Norwegian Royal Family are hosting the new King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark on a State Visit to Norway on May 14 and 15. The visit celebrates the historical ties and close neighbourly relationship between Denmark and Norway and between the two Royal Families. The State Visit begins on the 20th Wedding Anniversary of the King and Queen of Denmark.
Garden Party at Buckingham Palace
King Charles III and Queen Camilla hosted the inaugural Creative Industries Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on May 15th. There are usually four annual Garden Parties hosted by the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Holyrood House for around 30,000 guests yearly, as well as a few special others, like today’s inaugural for the Creative Industries.
Order of the British Empire Service at St Paul’s Cathedral
King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended a Service of Dedication for the Order of the British Empire at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on May 15th. The King is the Sovereign of the Order of the British Empire, while the Queen is the Grand Master of the Order.

Queen returns to London, 1954
The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh completed their six-month Commonwealth Tour as they returned to London on this day in 1954, following Tours around the United Kingdom after the Queen’s Coronation. The Commonwealth Tour took them through Bermuda, Jamaica, Panama, Fiji, Tonga, New Zealand, Australia, Ceylon, Aden, Uganda, Malta and a stop in Gibraltar.
