The Italian Princess who married the Bulgarian Tsar that was poisoned by Hitler, and spent much of her life in exile, Queen Giovanna possessed some spectacular jewels, which included this Art Deco Pearl and Diamond Tiara!
Next month, Countess Camilla, Countess Josephine, and Countess Feodora of Rosenborg, are auctioning Jewels from the collection of their late aunt, Princess Elisabeth of Denmark, at Bruun Rasmussen on December 1st, which includes Princess Thyra’s Sapphire Tiara! In 2019, the Countesses sold Queen Alexandrine’s Russian Sapphire Tiara at Auction.
When Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) married Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark 75 years ago, the couple received over 2,500 gifts, which were sent from family, heads-of-state, and well-wishers around the world, which included spectacular Royal Heirlooms alongside household items, food, and clothing. The gifts were displayed at St James’s Palace between November 1947 and March 1948, and were seen by over 200,000 visitors.
