Queen and Duke of Edinburgh’s Diamond Wedding Anniversary, 2007

Two days before their 60th Wedding Anniversary, the then Prince of Wales hosted a Dinner at Clarence House for the late Queen (wearing the King Khalid Diamond Necklace) and the Duke of Edinburgh on this day in 2007, which was attended by members of the extended Royal Family and provided the opportunity for a rare family photograph.

The following day, Queen and Duke were joined by the extended Royal Family for a Service of Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey, which was also attended by King Constantine II and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, Crown Prince Alexander of Serbia, Margareta, Custodian of the Crown of Romania, Princess Sarvath of Jordan, the Baden Royal Family, Princess Margarita of Baden, the Prince and Princess of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, Countess Mountbatten, and Lady Pamela Hicks,

On the day of the Anniversary, an image of the Queen and Duke was released, which had been taken at Broadlands, the home of the Mountbatten Family, where they had begun their Honeymoon in 1947. The day itself was spend in Malta ‘to relive their newlywed days’.
