Wedding of Prince Ludwig Philipp of Thurn und Taxis and Princess Elisabeth of Luxembourg, 1922

The Wedding of Prince Ludwig Philipp of Thurn und Taxis, son of the 8th Prince of Thurn and Taxis and Archduchess Margarethe Klementine of Austria, and Princess Elisabeth of Luxembourg, daughter of Grand Duke William IV of Luxembourg and Infanta Marie Anne of Portugal, at Schloss Hohenburg in Bavaria on this day in 1922. The couple, who resided at Schloss Niederaichbach, had two children; Prince Anselm of Thurn und Taxis and Princess Iniga von Urach, before his death in a car crash 1933, while the Princess passed away in 1950. 

Royal Guests and Relatives gathered from around Europe, and included  Archduchess Margarethe Klementine, Princess of Thurn und Taxis (wearing Empress Eugénie’s Pearl Tiara) and Grand Duchess Marie Anne of Luxembourg (in the Grand Duchess Adélaïde Tiara) though her sister, Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg, was not present due to political disapproval over the Princess marrying a German Prince so soon after the First World War.
