Swedish Royal Tiaras 2016
Happy Birthday to Queen Silvia of Sweden, who turns 73 today. The Swedish Royal family had a Tiara filled year starting with a representation Dinner and fairy tale party in February. They hosted the world’s royalty at King Carl Gustav’s 70th Birthday celebrations though only Queen Silvia attended Chilean State Banquet. There were two tiaras during the Swedish State Visit to Germany, and four tiaras each night at the Nobel Prize Banquet and King’s Dinner for Nobel Laureates. This made for a grand total of eleven Tiaras worn eighteen times this year. There were more tiaras worn by the King’s sisters, but covering them would have made this list endless. Continue reading

With the grand 70th Birthday celebrations of King Carl XVI Gustav to the guests at the Albanian Royal Wedding in October, this year has been filled with Royal Tiaras. King’s Dinner for Nobel Laureates
King Carl XVI Gustav of Sweden held a banquet for Nobel Laureates at the Royal Palace of Stockholm on December 11th. Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl-Phillip, Princess Sofia, Princess Madeleine, and Christopher O’Neil were also present. The King awarded the Nobel Prizes on the 10th. Nobel Prize Ceremony 2016
The Swedish Royal Family attended the annual Nobel Prize Ceremony and Banquet in Stockholm on December 10th. King Carl XVI Gustav personally awarded the Prize to each Nobel Laureate. The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded in Oslo earlier on the same day in the presence of the Norwegian Royal Family. The King’s sister, Princess Cristina wasn’t able to attend as she is suffering from chronic leukemia. Continue reading
Swedish Royal Wedding Dresses Exhibition
Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, and Princess Sofia of Sweden attended a preview of a new Swedish ‘Royal Wedding Dresses 1976-2015′ exhibition at the Royal Palace of Stockholm on October 17th. The exhibition, which features the Wedding Dresses of the Queen and Swedish princess, marks the 40th wedding anniversary of King Carl Gustav and Queen Silvia. “Royal Wedding Dresses 1976-2015” begins at the Royal Palace on 18 October 2016 and runs until 12 March 2017.

Members of many European royal families are visiting New York City currently, to attend the 71st session of the United Nations. Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine represent Sweden, while King Felipe and Queen Letizia are representing Spain and Crown Princess Mary came for Denmark. Swedish Royal annual Summer Photoshoot
The Swedish Royal family gathered for their annual photoshoot at Solliden Palace, the Summer Residence of the Family, on July 15th, the day after Crown Princess Victoria celebrated her birthday at Solliden last week. The photos were released on July 20th. The whole Swedish Royal Family posed this year. This was one of the first occasions we got to see Prince Oscar and Prince Alexander, the newborn babies of the family.
Crown Princess Victoria’s 39th Birthday
HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden turned 39 on July 14. There is an annual holiday, Victoriadagen, held in Sweden every year, to celebrate the birthday of their Crown Princess.Earlier in the day, Crown Princess Victoria, along with her parents, husband, and children, greeted the public outside Solliden Palace. In the evening, the rest of the Royal Family joined them for a Birthday Concert in Öland. Continue reading
Swedish National Day 2016
The members of the Swedish Royal Family were out in full force for Swedish National Day on June 6th. Official portraits were released, Palaces were opened to the public, and concerts were attended by the Swedish Royals in national Dress. There has been a Swedish holiday on June 6th since 1916, first as Swedish Flag day, and then, since 1983, as Swedish National Day. June 6th is a special day for Swedes because King Gustav I was elected King on that day in 1523. Also on June 6th, 1809, Sweden adopted a new constitution. Continue reading

Prince Oscar of Sweden, the newborn son of Crown Princess Victoria was christened at the Royal Chapel at the Royal Palace of Stockholm on May 27th.
