The British and Japanese Royal Families presided over the VJ (Victory in Japan) Day 75th Anniversary Commemorations on August 15th, marking the 75th Anniversary of the end of the Second Word War. Royals Families from around Europe presided over the VE Day 75th Anniversary in May.
The ongoing series of events to celebrate the Enthronement of Emperor Naruhito of Japan as the 126th Emperor on the Chrysanthemum Throne continued with a Parade through Tokyo on November 10th. Emperor Naruhito acceded to the Chrysanthemum Thone in May after the abdication of Emperor Akihito the previous day.
