Lindsay Tiara

Happy Birthday to the Countess of Lindsay, who turns 65 today! The Patroness of the Royal Caledonian Ball and Master of the Fife Foxhounds who is the mother of the Duchess of Noto among others, we are featuring the Pearl and Diamond Fringe Tiara that is an heirloom of the Lindesay-Bethune Family!

The exact origin of this Pearl and Diamond Fringe Tiara is unknown but it appears to date from the Victorian Era, the later half of the 19th century.

The Pearl and Diamond Fringe Tiara appears to have been worn by either the 12th or 14th Countesses of Lindsay at one of the Royal Caledonian Balls in the 1930s or 1940s, as discovered by the lovely Beth.

The current Countess of Lindsay is a patroness of the Royal Caledonian Ball and must have worn the Pearl and Diamond Fringe Tiara there, but has more notably been pictured a magnificent Diamond Floral Brooch.

Lady Frances Lindesay-Bethune, the eldest daughter of the Earl and Countess, wore the Pearl and Diamond Fringe Tiara for her Wedding to Rostislav Gabinsky in 2017.

The following year, the Pearl and Diamond Fringe Tiara was worn by Lady Alexandra Lindesay-Bethune for her Wedding to Jack Coleman.

Most notably, the Pearl and Diamond Fringe Tiara was worn by Lady Charlotte Lindesay-Bethune, the youngest daughter of the Earl and Countess of Lindsay, for her Wedding to Prince Jaime of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke of Noto in Palermo in 2021.

Two years later, the Pearl and Diamond Fringe Tiara was also worn by Katherine O’Connor for her Wedding to Hon. David Lindesay-Bethune, the younger son of the 16th Earl and Countess of Lindsay, in St Andrews.

While Lady Violet Manners wore the Rutland Tiara for her Wedding to Viscount Garnock in 2024, lets hope we see her wear the heirloom Lindesay-Bethune Pearl and Diamond Fringe Tiara soon!
