De Kongelige Juveler

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, Queen Silvia of Sweden, the then Crown Princess Mary, Prince Michael of Kent, and Prince Michael of Greece gave interviews as the magnificent Royal Heirlooms of the Scandinavian Royal Families and the Russian Royal Family were featured in De Kongelige Juveler ‘The Royal Jewels’ Documentary Series!

We had initially watched De Kongelige Juveler ‘The Royal Jewels’ in English over a decade ago but had been unable to find that version until stumbling upon it a few days ago, and hence want to share with all of you as well!

Episode One

Featuring interviews from Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, Queen Silvia of Sweden, the then Crown Princess Mary and Princess Benedikte, Episode One of ‘De Kongelige Juveler’ charts the illustrious history of the Danish Ruby Parure while also featuring the Pearl Poiré Tiara, the Danish Emerald Parure, the Floral Aigrette Tiara, the Khedive of Egypt Tiara, the Braganza Tiara, the Leuchtenberg Sapphire Parure, the Connaught Diamond Tiara, the Napoleonic Amethyst Tiara, the Cameo Tiara, the Norwegian Emerald Parure, Queen Sofia’s Pearl and Star Tiara and Queen Alexandrine’s Fringe Tiara among a series of Jewels which have moved between the Scandinavian Royal Families.

Episode Two

With interviews by Prince Michael of Kent, Prince Michael of Greece, and  Princess Olga Romanoff, Episode Two mainly focuses on the Vladimir Tiara, while also featuring Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna’s Pearl Drop Tiara, Tsarina Elizabeth Alexeievna’s Diamond Kokoshnik Tiara, Empress Maria Feodorovna’s Pearl Drop Tiara, the Vladimir Sapphire Kokoshnik, and the Vladimir Emerald Necklace among a series of spectacular Russian Royal Jewels!

  1. I am so glad there are good pictures of the jewels. So beautiful and I’m so thankful they are being looked after well. I am scandanavian so I have a vested interest in them. ..in case I wanted to borrow them.

  2. I love this show I even brought the dvd. It was by chance seeing this show on telly more than a decade ago, that sent me on the rabbit warren that is royal jewels. I’m even a member of a royal jewels Facebook group, where we engage in activities like voting on which is the best all diamond tiara- the fife won it hands down.

    I just wish they did more shows in this series covering the jewels of the British, Dutch, Greek and Spanish royal families, they all have extensive collections.
