Danish State Visit to The Netherlands, 1954

Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands hosted King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid of Denmark on their State Visit to The Netherlands on this day in 1954, 70 years ago, following the Dutch State Visit to Denmark in 1953.

Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard received King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid (in her Pearl and Diamond Corsage) at the Train Station in Amsterdam, ahead of an Official Welcome Ceremony at the Royal Palace of Amsterdam, where the two Royal Couples appeared on the Palace Balcony.

King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid (wearing the Danish Ruby Parure) were joined by Queen Juliana (in the Mellerio Ruby Tiara) and Prince Bernhard for a Banquet at the Ridderzaal in The Hague.

Queen Juliana (wearing the Stuart Tiara) and Prince Bernhard also joined King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid (in the Pearl Poiré Tiara) for a spectacular Gala Performance in Amsterdam.
