  1. Wow! This certainly was a banner year as far as weddings is concerned! All the ladies and their gentlemen looked very nice. That being said, some weddings were more satisfying that others in terms of the dress and the hair adornment. One wedding in particular was not as satisfying for me in those terms and that is the wedding of the Duke of Huescar. I thought her dress was very plain and unflattering and she didn’t even wear a veil, let a lone a tiara! Her train was enormously long but so plain it looked as if she was dragging a king-sized bed sheet behind her! On the other hand, Princess Eugenie’s wedding was a home run! Her dress was lovely and very flattering to her figure and her tiara was to die for! Of course, by comparison the Hanoverian tiara is probably more magnificent, but what made P. Eugenie’s choice so special is the fact that nobody had seen that tiara since it was gifted to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother! That was an amazing surprise! Runner up in that department is the Duchess of Sussex in her tiara. Both choices are so lovely I can only hope that they get to wear them again sometime soon! Number three for me is Princess Ayako. She wore the beautiful traditional Japanese dress for her wedding, but what made her wedding special for me was the way that she sneaked in a tiara for her wedding celebration! Her mother, Hisako Princess Takamado, is one of the loveliest guests at any royal event and her daughter probably inherited her sense of fun. It’s so sad that P. Ayako will be forced into retirement now that she married. I hope that will change in the near future.
