The Wedding of Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia, son of Prince Paul of Yugoslavia and Princess Olga of Greece, and Princess Maria Pia of Italy (wearing the Diamond Wreath and Flower Tiara), daughter of King Umberto II and Princess Marie Jose of Belgium, in Cascais, Portugal on this day in 1955. The wedding celebrations were the most lavish among the exiled royal families in Portugal, with guests and relatives from all around Europe. The couple had four children, two sets of twins, before divorcing in 1967.
