The Religious Wedding of Crown Prince Leopold of Belgium to Princess Astrid of Sweden at the St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral in Brussels on this day in 1926, followed by a Reception at the Royal Palace of Brussels. The couple had gotten married in a civil ceremony in Stockholm a few days previously. Royal Guests and Relatives in attendance were, from left-right; Princess Martha of Sweden (sister of the Bride, later Crown Princess of Norway, wearing the Turquoise Daisy Bandeau), Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, Princess Ingeborg of Denmark and Sweden (mother of the bride, wearing Empress Joséphine’s Emerald Tiara), Prince Carl, Duke of Västergötland (father of the bride), Princess Margretha of Denmark (sister of the bride, wearing her Floral Tiara), Crown Princess Astrid of Belgium (the Bride), Princess Ingrid of Sweden (cousin of the bride, later Queen of Denmark), Crown Prince Leopold of Belgium (the groom), Queen Elisabeth of Belgium (mother of the groom, wearing her Cartier Tiara), Princess Marie Jose of Belgium (sister of the groom, later Queen of Italy), King Christian X of Denmark (uncle of the bride), Queen Alexandrine of Denmark (aunt of the bridewearing her Fringe Tiara), Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg (in the Emerald Art Deco Tiara), and King Albert of Belgium (father of the groom).
