Royals from around the world have been in New York City this week for the 72nd meeting of the United Nations General Assembly. They also attended events surrounding Goalkeepers 2017, organized by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to highlight progress against global poverty and disease, showcase solutions to help advance the Sustainable Development Goals (or Global Goals) and foster bold leadership to help accelerate the path to a more prosperous, healthy and just future. Eight Kings and Eleven Queens led the Royal Guests and Relatives from around the world at the Wedding of King Constantine II of Greece and Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark in Athens on this day in 1964, 60 years ago, amidst weeks of festivities in Copenhagen and Athens, which began with a Gala in Copenhagen, a Farewell Dinner at Fredensborg Palace, a Dinner in Athens, and the spectacular Wedding Ball at the Royal Palace of Athens.

Wedding of Hereditary Prince Ferdinand of Leiningen and Princess Viktoria Luise of Prussia

The Religious Wedding Ceremony of Hereditary Prince Ferdinand of Leiningen and Princess Viktoria Luise of Prussia took place at the Chapel of Amorbach Castle on September 16th. The couple got married in a civil ceremony back in April at the Amorbach Refektorium. They are second cousins once removed as the descendants of Tsar Alexander II of Russia, Queen Victoria, and Kaiser Wilhelm II. Continue reading
