King Carl XVI Gustaf (wearing the Order of the Seraphim, Order of the Polar Star, Order of the Sword) was enthroned in a lavish ceremony in the Throne Room of the Royal Palace of Stockholm. He delivered a speech from the Throne draped with ermine. The Crown Jewels were displayed but not worn.

After the Enthronement Ceremony, King Carl XVI Gustaf waved to the crowds from the Balcony of the Royal Palace of Stockholm. He was joined by his four sisters (wearing King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch) and uncle, Prince Bertil.
