Emperor Naruhito of Japan is being Enthroned in a series of lavish Ceremonies in Tokyo this week, with a multitude of Royal Guests from around the world in what promises to be the most glittering royal occasion of the year. Emperor Naruhito acceded to the Chrysanthemum Thone in May after the abdication of Emperor Akihito the previous day. In keeping with the importance of this event, I have decided to create an open post with all the details, links and livestreams from the event, along with live updates, which will keep all of you involved in the time before I post individual, detailed articles about each and every event!

Savoy-Aosta Bandeau Tiara

Two days ago, Countess Olympia von und zu Arco-Zinneberg wore a Diamond Bandeau Tiara at her Wedding to Prince Jean-Christophe Napoléon, which was unknown by many people. With both the bride and groom coming from the illustrious Habsburg, Napoléon, Savoy, Aosta, Bourbon Two-Scillies, Arco-Zinneberg, and Orleans Royal Families, among others, there were a multitude of options about the provenance of the Tiara. Ahead of the wedding, we took a look at some of the family heirlooms, including the Savoy-Aosta Tiara (not to be confused with the Savoy Aosta Knot and Star Tiara or the Tiaras of the House of Savoy) and the Austria-Este Tiara, but Countess Olympia wore another rarely seen Heirloom. Princess of Asturias Awards 2019

King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain, joined by the Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia for the first time, are in Oviedo this week to preside over the 2018 Princess of Asturias Awards, to deliver a series of prizes to individuals, entities or companies from around the world who make notable achievements in the sciences, humanities, and public affairs. Established in 1980, the Princess of Asturias Foundation is a private non-profit institution, whose objectives are to contribute to the exaltation and promotion of how many scientific, cultural and humanistic values ​​are universal heritage and consolidate their links to the Principality of Asturias. This was the first year the Princess has attended.

Stortingsmiddag 2019

King Harald hosted the annual Gala Dinner for Members of the Norwegian Parliament (Stortingsmiddag) at the Royal Palace of Oslo on October 17th. They were joined by Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Astrid, as they the processed through the Speilsalen, Small Dining Room, Small Ballroom, and the Great Ballroom into the Banqueting Hall.
