The Queen is celebrating her Platinum Jubilee this year, with the main Jubilee Celebrations scheduled for next week. Ahead of the Platinum Jubilee Weekend, we are taking a look at the celebrations for the Queen’s three previous Jubilees, ending with with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, after covering the Silver Jubilee in 1977 and the Golden Jubilee in 2002!
Yesterday, the Beau Monde and I went to Sotheby’s to see their Platinum Jubilee Exhibition: ‘Power & Image: Royal & Aristocratic Tiaras’, in which over 40 outstanding tiaras of Royal and Noble Provenance are displayed, alongside tiaras from contemporary British jewellers! The exhibition was spectacular, featuring some of the most splendid Aristocratic Tiaras (many of which we have covered here), and also offered two amazing surprises. Continue reading

The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Princess Beatrice, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester joined the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as they hosted the third and last annual Garden Party of 2022 at Buckingham Palace on May 25th, following the Garden Party on May 11th and on May 18th. There are usually four annual Garden Parties hosted by the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Holyrood House for around 30,000 guests yearly, as well as a few special others, though the Queen has announced in advance that she will not be attending any of the Garden Parties this year. Royal Guests and Relatives from around Europe joined the Norwegian Royal Family for the Wedding of Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and the late Ari Behn in Trondheim on this day in 2002 (20 years ago), which came less than a year after a big gathering of royal guests for the Wedding of her brother, Crown Prince Haakon, so to mark the day, we are featuring the Royal Guests at the Wedding of Princess Märtha Louise!
