The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh completed a month-long Tour of the South Pacific on this day in 1982 (40 years ago), visiting Australia (for the Commonwealth Games), as well as Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Nauru, Kiribati, Tuvalu, and Fiji, travelling on the Royal Yacht Britannia.
The 16-year old Duke of Kent accompanied his mother, Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, on a five-week Tour of the Far East in 1952, exactly 70 years ago, visiting Singapore, Malaya, Borneo, Brunei, Sarawak, and Hong Kong in addition to several stops on the journey. Continue reading
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are on a State Visit to Greece at the invitation of President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, from October 31st to November 2nd in Athens and Thessaloniki, after being delayed twice. The Netherlands and Greece are jointly committed to an open, innovative and safe and stable Europe. During the visit, attention will be paid to cooperation in the field of innovation, sustainability, migration and human rights and the partnership within the European Union.

Today marks the 135th Anniversary of the Birth of Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain, who was born on this day in 1887! Queen Ena had a splendid jewellery collection, full of family heirlooms and contemporary acquisitions and commissions.
