Today marks the Anniversary of the Death of Patricia Knatchbull, 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma, who passed away on this day in 2017! The first cousin of the late Duke of Edinburgh, who lost her father, mother-in-law, and son in the tragic IRA assassination that made her a Countess in her own right, Lady Mountbatten had a spectacular jewellery collection, which included Lady Brabourne’s Diamond Earrings!

The Jewels of Princess Olga of Yugoslavia

Today marks the 120th Anniversary of the Birth of Princess Olga of Yugoslavia, who was born on this day in 1903! The illustrious Greek Princess, a cousin of the reigning & former Crowned Heads of Europe, who married the much maligned Second World War Regent of Yugoslavia and spent much of her life in exile, Princess Olga possessed a spectacular jewellery collection, which we are featuring today!

Prince of Wales at Colonel’s Review of Trooping the Colour

The Prince of Wales, Colonel of the Welsh Guards, (wearing the Order of the Garter) carried out the Colonel’s Review of Trooping the Colour on June 10th at Horse Guards Parade. The Colonel’s Review is the final evaluation of the parade before it goes before the King during the Trooping of the Colour on the 17 June. The Prince, as the previous Colonel of the Irish Guards, also attended last year’s Colonel’s Review. Continue reading
