Dutch State Visit to Greece

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are on a State Visit to Greece at the invitation of President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, from October 31st to November 2nd in Athens and Thessaloniki, after being delayed twice. The Netherlands and Greece are jointly committed to an open, innovative and safe and stable Europe. During the visit, attention will be paid to cooperation in the field of innovation, sustainability, migration and human rights and the partnership within the European Union.

Today marks the 25th Anniversary of the Death of Princess Olga of Yugoslavia, who passed away on this day in 1997! The illustrious Greek Princess, a cousin of the reigning & former Crowned Heads of Europe, who married the much maligned Second World War Regent of Yugoslavia and spent much of her life in exile, Princess Olga possessed a spectacular jewellery collection, the highlight of which was this splendid Diamond Rivière from her namesake grandmother!

Heads of State Reception at Buckingham Palace

Ahead of the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey tomorrow, the British Royal Family hosted a Reception for visiting Heads of State and Representatives at Buckingham Palace, which is stated to be one of the largest gatherings of Heads of State in History. Today marks the 130th Anniversary of the Birth of Princess Victoria Louise, Duchess of Brunswick, who was born on this day in 1892! The Kaiser’s only daughter who married the Head of the House of Hanover and spent a long life at the centre of German Royal and Noble circles, to mark the anniversary, we are finally featuring her Prussian Diamond Tiara, which also ties in with our ongoing coverage of the Jewels of Queen Letizia of Spain!
