Yesterday marked the 60th Anniversary of the Death of Helen, the 8th Duchess of Northumberland, who passed away in 1965! The Mistress of the Robes to the Queen Mother, the Duchess of Northumberland had the magnificent Northumberland Strawberry Leaf Coronet snatched by thieves after she retrieved it from Garrards ahead of a State Banquet in 1963!

The Actress who married a former Swedish Prince and was the last surviving aunt of King Carl XVI Gustaf of SwedenQueen Margrethe II of Denmark, and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, Countess Marianne had been a beloved member of the Swedish Royal Family for over six decades when she passed away at the age of 100 last month.

Swedish Royal Visit to Norway

The Norwegian Royal Family hosted a magnificent State Banquet for King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden at the Royal Palace of Oslo on this day in 2005, 20 years ago, on their visit to Norway for the Norwegian Centennial, and ahead of the Norwegian Royal Family’s visit to Sweden. The last Swedish State Visit to Norway was in 1993.
