Today marks the 60th Anniversary of the Death of Queen Louise of Sweden, who passed away on this day in 1965! The Battenberg Princess that became a Lady and then married the widower future King of Sweden, despite frequently declaring that she would ‘never marry a king or a widower’, Queen Louise only ever wore five Tiaras in over four decades as the Swedish Crown Princess and Queen!

Queen Caroline Amalie’s Gold Tiara 

Earlier this week, Queen Mary of Denmark brought out Queen Caroline Amalie’s Gold and Cameo Tiara for the first time in over 140 years, which was hidden in plain sight for years in a corner cabinet on the visitor route at the Amalienborg Palace Museum and will now go on permanent display in the Treasury under Rosenborg Castle!

Danish State Visit to Finland 

King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark are on their first State Visit to Finland on March 4th and 5th. The State Visit comes following their State Visit to SwedenState Visit to Norway, an extensive Tour of Greenland, a State Visit from Iceland, and a visit to Germany after the Accession of King Frederik X last year upon the Abdication of Queen Margrethe II.

Paris: City of Pearls

Last month, we were in Paris and London and visited several Exhibitions in addition to the leading French and English Jewellery Houses, which we will feature this month, starting with the heritage Pearl Jewels from Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier and the Albion Art Collection on display at the ‘Paris: City of Pearls’ Exhibition at the L’ÉCOLE School of Jewelry Arts in the Hôtel de Mercy-Argenteau in Paris!
