Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony 2023

The Norwegian Royal Family attended the annual Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Oslo on December 10th. While the other Noble Prizes are awarded by King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, only the Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo.

The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded at a ceremony by the Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee in the presence of King Harald, Queen Sonja (wearing her Diamond Filigree Brooch), Crown Prince Haakon, and Crown Princess Mette-Marit (in her Pearl Earrings) at the Oslo City Hall.

This year’s Prize was awarded to Narges Mohammadi for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all, and as she is in prison, her children were received by the Royal Family at the Royal Palace of Oslo ahead of the Ceremony.

In the evening, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit (wearing her Pearl Earrings) joined King Harald and Queen Sonja (in a Diamond Riviere) for the Nobel Peace Prize Banquet at the Grand Hotel in Oslo.
