Royal Ascot 2023 | Day 3

The British Royal Family attended the third day of races at the Ascot Racecourse on June 22nd. Royal Ascot is a permanent fixture on the British Royal Family’s June calendar and the late Queen attended all five days of the horse-racing event for over 70 years. This year, Royal Ascot follows Order of the Garter Service, Trooping the Colour and the Coronation.

A Royal Procession of four carriages traveled from Windsor Castle to the Ascot Racecourse in horse-drawn landaus, before the Royal Family and their guests spent the day in the Royal Enclosure:

King Charles III and Queen Camilla were joined by the Earl of Snowdon and Sir Mark Prescott in the First Carriage.

Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani and Lord Soames joined the Princess Royal (wearing the Queen’s Three-Strand Pearl Necklace) and Sir Timothy Laurence in the Second Carriage.

Lady Sarah (wearing the Greville Pearl Earrings) and Daniel Chatto were joined by Baroness and Colin Chisholmin the Third Carriage.

The Fourth Carriage included Mr & Mrs John Gosden with John and Lady Carolyn Warren.

The Duchess of Edinburgh and Zara and Mike Tindall were also present. 

King Charles III and Queen Camilla celebrate after the King’s horse, Desert Hero, ridden by Tom Marquand wins the King George V Stakes at Ascot, with the trophy presented by the Duke of Kent.
