Royal Relatives and Godparents joined the British Royal Family to celebrate the Christening of Prince William of Wales, son of the Prince and Princess of Wales, by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Music Room at Buckingham Palace on this day in 1982 (40 years ago), on the 82nd Birthday of his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother.

Prince William’s godparents are: King Constantine II of Greece (second cousin once removed), Princess Alexandra of Kent (first cousin twice removed), the Duchess of Westminster, Lord Romsey (now Earl Mountbatten of Burma) (second cousin once removed), Lady Susan Hussey and Sir Laurens van der Post, and he was Confirmed at Windsor Castle in 1997.
