The Engagement of the Duke of Anjou, son of Infante Jaime, Duke of Segovia and Emmanuelle de Dampierre, and Carmen Martínez-Bordiú, daughter of the 10th Marquis of Villaverde and the 1st Duchess of Franco and the eldest granddaughter of Fascist Dictator General Francisco Franco, at the Palacio del Pardo in Madrid on this day in 1971. The couple got married in the chapel of the El Pardo Palace the following March.
Royal Guets and Relatives in attendance included Prince Juan Carlos and Princess Sofia of Spain, King Constantine II, Queen Anne-Marie and Queen Frederica of Greece.
