HM the Queen held a Garden party at Buckingham Palace on the afternoon of May 19th. She was accompanied by members of the Royal family. Earlier that day, the Palace released a statement that an intruder was arrested on the grounds of the Palace the previous evening, after the Queen opened Parliament in the morning.
This is the second Garden Party for HM, the first was last week, the the Duchess of Cornwall held a Garden Party on May 12th, and the Prince of Wales held another for the Prince’s Trust earlier this week. It also wasn’t the first time an intruder has broken into the Palace grounds, there were incidences in 2003 and 2013, but the most famous was in 1982, when Michael Fagan reached the Queen’s bedroom, and spent 10 minutes talking to her before she managed to raise the alarm when he asked for a cigarette.
The Queen wore a mint coat and cerise dress Karl Ludwig Couture with a matching hat by Philip Sommerville. HM wore her customary Three Strand Pearl Necklace with the Cullinan V Brooch, which used to be a part of the Cullinan diamond, the largest diamond in the world. She was accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, who wore morning dress and a top hat.
The Prince of Wales wore a gray morning suit, with a pink tie, probably to match with the Duchess of Cornwall who wore a rose pink dress with cream coat and hat by Phillip Treacy. She also wore her Four Strand Pearl Choker with Large Diamond Clasp, and a pearl and diamond Prince of Wales feather brooch.
Princess Anne wore a beige dress, with a brown and beige hat and a small two-strand pearl choker and a gold brooch. Princess Alexandra of Kent wore textured white coat, with a large hat and her pearl choker. The Duke of Kent wore a dark morning suit, with a gray top hat. Prince and Princess Michael of Kent also attended, but there aren’t any pictures available of them.
