Following their Wedding in Stockholm the previous day, Crown Prince Frederik and the new Crown Princess Ingrid of Denmark (wearing her new Daisy Brooch) arrived in Copenhagen on the Royal Yacht Dannebrog on this day in 1935, being greeted by King Christian X as they stepped on to the harbour, which was followed by a Carriage Procession through the streets of Copenhagen and an Appearance on the Balcony of Amalienborg Palace, which also included viewing their new apartments and wedding gifts at Frederick VIII’s Palace. In the evening, the couple attended a dinner for 150 guests, and a Ball was held at Christiansborg Palace the following evening, before the couple left for a short honeymoon on the French Riviera, marking the end of weeks of lavish wedding festivities.
