The Gala Dinner for the Diplomatic Corps hosted by King Frederik (wearing the Order of the Elephant) and Queen Ingrid (in the Emerald Parure Tiara) at Christiansborg Palace on this day in 1967, ahead of the Wedding of Crown Princess Margrethe of Denmark (wearing the Alexandrine Drop Tiara and the Order of the Elephant) and Count Henri de Laborde de Monpezat, the first in a series of celebrations in the week leading to the wedding. Other members of the Royal Family in attendance included Princess Benedikte (wearing Queen Sophia’s Star and Pearl Tiara) and Prince Richard, Hereditary Prince Knud and Hereditary Princess Caroline Mathilde (wearing Queen Alexandrine’s Fringe Tiara), Princess Elisabeth (in Princess Thyra’s Sapphire Tiara), Princess Margretha of Sweden and Denmark (wearing Princess Ingeborg’s Turquoise Star Tiara), Princess Margaret of Denmark and Bourbon-Parma (in Princess Margaretha’s Floral Tiara), Prince George and Princess Anne of Denmark (wearing her Diamond Tiara), and Count Axel and Countess Ruth of Rosenborg (in Princess Viggo’s Opal Tiara).
