Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco were joined by the Duke of York for an Outward Bound Charity Dinner at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco in Monte Carlo on November 7th. Outward bound is a British Non-profit association that celebrated its 75th anniversary last year. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were on an extensive month-long Tour of West Africa on this day in 1961 (60 years ago), visiting Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Gambia. The Tour of West Africa came after an extensive 2-month Tour of India and Pakistan with State Visits to Nepal and Iran, as well as the Commonwealth Prime Ministers’ Banquet, which were followed by State Visits to Italy and the Vatican in May, and a long stay in Scotland in the Summer. The Queen reopened the Sir Joseph Hotung Gallery of China and South Asia at the British Museum in London on November 8th. The Gallery, which has recently undergone a major programme of renovation and restoration to house a wider selection of objects from one of the finest collections of its kind in the world, was originally opened by the Queen in 1992.
