Royal Guests from around the world joined the Nepalese Royal Family to celebrate the Coronation of King Birendra and Queen Aishwarya of Nepal in the Temple of the Hanuman Dhoka Palace in Kathmandu on this day in 1975, three decades before the Nepalese Royal Family’s gruesome massacre.
Later today, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will arrive in Casablanca at the start of a 3-day Official Visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, and thus we are taking a look at the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh’s 1980 State Visit to Morocco, which was one of the more difficult of the State Visits during her Reign (video below with Courtiers and Dignitaries explaining more). Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik of Denmark were hosted by Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh on their State Visit to Britain on this day in 2000. The Queen and Duke had been on State Visits to Denmark in 1957 and 1979, while Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik visited in 1974.
