King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are hosting Italian President Sergio Mattarella and his daughter, Laura Mattarella, on their three-day State Visit to The Netherlands from November 9th to the 11th to promote and celebrate diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties, and deepening of the cooperation to a stronger, more sustainable and safer Europe. The Dutch King and Queen went on a State Visit to Italy in 2017, while the last Italian State Visit was in 2003.
Foreign Royal Guests and Relatives and Heads of State and Representatives of 121 Countries joined the British Royal Family for the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey on September 19th, followed by a Procession to Marble Arch and a Committal Service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. The late Queen, who passed away at Balmoral Castle earlier this month, had been Lying-in-State first at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh and then at Westminster Hall in London for the past week.

Today marks the 175th Anniversary of the Birth of Princess Maria Vittoria dal Pozzo, Princess della Cisterna, Duchess of Aosta and Queen of Spain, who was born on this day in 1847! The aristocratic Heiress who was the Princess della Cisterna, Princess of Belriguardo, Marchioness of Voghera and Countess of Ponderano in her own right, she married Prince Amadeo of Savoy, Duke of Aosta, a younger son of King Victor Emmanuel II of Italy, who became the King of Spain between 1870 and 1873, passing away at the age of 29, soon after their return.
