Wedding Ceremony of Princess Ilyana of Pahang

The Royal Family of Pahang continued the Wedding Celebrations for Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Princess Ilyana Alia Binti Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah of Pahang and Christopher Lionel Froggatt with a Majlis Persandingan Diraja Ceremony at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on August 8th, following the Akad Nikah Ceremony.

The Royal Family of Pahang attended the Majlis Persandingan Diraja for Y.A.M Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Princess Ilyana Alia Binti Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, the daughter of the Sultan of Pahang and Che Puan Julia Rais, and British Racing Driver Christopher Lionel Froggatt at the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur.

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang graced the Royal Wedding Ceremony of His Royal Highness’s daughter, Her Highness Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Ilyana Alia, and her spouse, Christopher Lionel Froggatt, held at a hotel in the capital today.

Also in attendance to accompany His Royal Highness were His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, together with Their Royal Highnesses’ royal siblings and members of the Pahang Royal Household.

Also present were Pahang Menteri Besar, Dato’ Sri Diraja Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and his wife, Datin Sri Dato’ Burhah Mohammed, as well as the representative of the Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan.

At the ceremony, the Royal couple was escorted to the dais before the Istiadat Menyuap Nasi Semangat (Ceremony of Feeding the Bridal Couple the Nasi Semangat) was performed by Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Puteri Seri Lela Wangsa Tengku Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Setia Hajjah Meriam binti Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah.

The Royal couple then remained on the dais for the Istiadat Bersanding dan Merenjis (Royal Wedding Sitting and Sprinkling Ceremony), which was graced by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, followed by other members of the Royal Family.

His Royal Highness then graciously performed the Istiadat Meletakkan Panca Bicara upon the Royal couple as a symbol of His Royal Highness’s blessing and celebration of the newlyweds.

The ceremony concluded with a recitation of prayers led by Sahibus Samahah the Mufti of Pahang, Professor Dato’ Dr Haji Asmadi bin Mohamed Naim, followed by a photography session with family members and distinguished guests.

Princess Ilyana wore Queen Azizah’s Diamond Tiara with an heirloom Diamond Chain.

Y.A.M Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Princess Ilyana Alia Binti Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, the daughter of the Sultan of Pahang and Che Puan Julia Rais, married British Racing Driver Christopher Lionel Froggatt in an Akad Nikah Ceremony at the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur.

His Majesty the Sultan of Pahang has graciously consented to attend the wedding ceremony of His Majesty’s daughter, Her Royal Highness Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Ilyana Alia, with her partner, Christopher Lionel Froggatt, which took place at a hotel in the capital, today.

Also accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, along with his younger brothers and titled relatives.

The marriage ceremony was performed by the Sahibus Samahah Mufti of Pahang, Professor Dato’ Dr. Haji Asmadi bin Mohamed Naim, who acted as the officiant at the ceremony.

After the marriage vows are recited, the groom performs the prayer before the ceremony continues with the bride and groom’s procession to the wedding hall for the dowry presentation ceremony and the wedding ring-wearing ceremony. The ceremony then continued with a prayer led by the Sahibus Samahah Mufti of Pahang before the sprinkling ceremony took place as a symbolic blessing and prayer for well-being for the bride and groom. The ceremony ended with a photo session with family members and guests of honor
