Wedding of Prince Michel of Bourbon-Parma and Countess Anna Luisa Schaffgotsch

Royal Guests and Relatives celebrated the Wedding of Prince Michel of Bourbon-Parma and Countess Anna Luisa Schaffgotsch at the Monastery of Castagnavizza in Slovenia on June 6th, two years after their Civil Ceremony in Denmark in 2024.

Prince Michel of Bourbon-Parma, son of Prince Erik of Bourbon-Parma and Countess Lydia of Holstein-Ledreborg, married Countess Anna Luisa Schaffgotsch genannt Semperfrei von und zu Kynast und Greifenstein, daughter of Count Carl Friedrich Schaffgotsch, at the Monastery of Castagnavizza in Slovenia. The couple have one son, Prince Erik.

The Castagnavizza monastery houses the tomb of Charles X, the last king of France and ancestor of the bride and groom.

The guests seemed eager to congratulate the couple, whose expressions reflected their boundless happiness. The festivities continued in Italy, just across the border, at Anna Luisa’s aunt’s Baronesse Tacco vineyard. The menu included a creamy risotto with langoustines and citrus, shrimp ravioli, and sea bass fillets with seasonal vegetables.

Later, when night falls over the hills of Gorizia and the monastery of Kostanjevica disappears from the horizon, a Tunella spumante, Madre Blanc de Noir cuvée, will make the already dancing atmosphere sparkle, extending the party until the early morning.

As the page boys and bridesmaids take their places at the entrance of the Church of the Annunciation, Anna Luisa Schaffgotsch appears, dressed in a simple ivory gown. Designed by London-based designer Malika Hemici for Aya Couture, the refined design in sable silk satin captivates with its medieval elegance.

In the bride’s hair, a diamond and pearl tiara belonging to her family held her cathedral-style silk and lace veil, encrusted with delicate silver crystals. A few years earlier, this same veil had been used at the wedding of her sister, Sofia Schaffgotsch

Prince Henri of Bourbon-Parma, brother of the groom, his wife Princess Gabriella, and their daughters, Princesses Philippine and Anastasia.

Princess Marie-Astrid of Luxembourg, her husband Archduke Carl Christian of Austria, and their granddaughter, Princess Victoria of Bourbon-Parma.

Prince Amaury and Princess Pelagie of Bourbon-Parma.

Prince Rafael of Orléans Braganza and his fiancée Margherita delle Piane.
