The Japanese Imperial Family celebrated the Wedding of Prince Akishino of Japan and Kiko Kawashima at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on this day in 1990, 35 years ago!
Prince Akishino of Japan, the younger son of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, married Kiko Kawashima in the Shrine at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, followed by a series of ceremonies with the Emperor and Empress.

Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand joined the extended Japanese Imperial Family to Celebrate the Wedding.
Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko have three children; Princess Mako, Princess Kako and Prince Hisahito and are set to become the next Emperor and Empress.
