Happy Birthday to Prince Hisahito of Akishino, who turns 13 today! The youngest child and only son of Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko of Japan, and the only grandson of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, he is the younger brother of Princess Mako and Princess Kako, and the first male heir to be born into the Imperial Family since 1965. Now the 2nd-in-line to the Chrysanthemum Throne, he is set to succeed his uncle and father as the 128th Emperor of Japan, as Japan does not support female succession. Starting his education at the  Ochanomizu University Elementary School, he now attends the  Ochanomizu University Junior High School, becoming the first member of the Imperial Family not to attend the traditional Gakushūin Primary School. Prince Hisahito does not undertake any official duties but recently accompanied his parents on a Visit to Bhutan. We wish HIH a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!
