The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and Lady Amelia Windsor joined King Charles and Queen Camilla for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show at the Royal Hospital Chelsea on May 21st. Members of the Royal family have attended the Show, held by the Royal Horticultural Society, regularly since its inception in 1913.
On May 4th, it was announced that the Kind would take on the patronage of the Royal Horticultural Society, following a long-standing relationship with the RHS, regularly attending the Flower Show alongside Queen Camilla.
Established in 1913, on the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show has become one of the world’s greatest showcases for horticultural excellence, attracting visitors and exhibitors from across the globe.
Since its beginning, the show has gone from strength to strength. It has grown from 244 exhibitors in 1913 to over 500 today, including gardens, nurseries, floristry, educational displays, and trade stands. Today the show attracts 168,000 visitors.
The show is organised by the Royal Horticultural Society, which was founded in 1804.
