Royal Guests at the Wedding of Infanta Isabel Alfonsa of Bourbon-Two Sicilies and Count Jan Kanty Zamoyski

Royal Relatives from around Europe joined the extended Spanish Royal Family to celebrate the Wedding of Princess Isabel Alfonsa of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Infanta of Spain and Count Jan Kanty Zamoyski in the Chapel of the Royal Palace of Madrid on this day in 1929, which was the last Spanish Royal Wedding before the Royal Family were forced out of Spain in exile in 1931.

Princess Isabel Alfonsa of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Infanta of Spain, daughter of Mercedes, Princess of Asturias and Prince Carlos of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, married Count Jan Kanty Zamoyski, son of Count Andrzej Zamoyski and Princess Maria Carolina of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, in the Chapel of the the Royal Palace of Madrid. The couple had four children and remained married until his passing in 1961, The Infanta passed away in 1985.

Royal Guests and Relatives were led by King Alfonso XIII of Spain, the uncle of the bride, along with Queen Victoria Eugenie, who wore her Turquoise Tiara.

Princess Beatrice, Duchess of Galliera (wearing Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrova’s Fringe Tiara) with Infanta Beatriz (in the Diamond Meander Bandeau) and Princess Maria Immaculata of Saxony.

Infanta María Cristina (wearing her Diamond Tiara) with Infante Gonzalo, the Duchess de Talavera and Infant Eulalia, as well as Infante Alfonso, Duke of Calabria, Infante Fernando, Infante Luis Fernando, Infante Luis Alfonso, Infante José Eugenio, Infanta Maria de las Mercedes, and Infanta Maria del Pilar.

      1. I am really looking forward to that, as it is an impressive piece. Oh, and talking of impressive pices; the emerald parure of Princess Maria Immaculata must have been quite stunning to watch in real life.

      2. Yes, those were the legendary heirloom emeralds of the Saxony Royal Family but sadly that was their last recorded appearance. They were probably stolen by the Nazis or the Soviets

  1. Another observation; the lady sitting next to the then Prince of Asturias is the Duchess of Guise and not the Countess of Paris. The Pretender to the French throne at that moment was the Duke of Guise. The title Count of Paris was only granted to their son, Henri, the same year as this wedding took place (according to Wikipedia) by his father.
